Turkey Condemns Vote, Recalls Ambassador (Updated)

ANKARA—Turkey recalled its ambassador to the U.S. for consultations following the vote by the House Foreign Relations Committee on the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

“Our ambassador to Washington Namik Tan was recalled tonight to Ankara for consultations after the development,” said a statement issued by the Turkish prime minister’s office. “We condemn this resolution accusing Turkey of a crime that it has not committed.”

The move came minutes after the U.S. congressional panel approved the resolution on March 4.

  1. Armenia will be happy to become a full partner of NATO and have bases to help the US if Turkey wants to PULL OUT!!  haha!!

  2. The names of the representatives who voted against H.Res.252 should be displayed on a ‘wall of shame’, and the sources of their campaign financing should be prominently displayed.

  3. Great idea  Janine!  That is right. Armenia can save the US!  Let Turkey walk away and  see what happens to the US in the  middle east afterwards.

  4. The US should relocate the base in Turkey to Northern Iraq. The Kurds want actually want this and would be a better ally.
