I’m writing a response to a published letter from Violet Gavoor (Armenian Weekly, Letter to the Editor: Zinn and Healthcare, Feb. 27, 2010). She appears to be quite upset over “American political views” appearing in the Armenian Weekly. I believe the real irritating factor is that Garen Yegparian’s point of view is too liberal for her sensibilities, and not that it deals with American politics.
I, for one, believe that we should have more articles exposing the dealings and double dealings of Washington. Their actions not only affect Armenia, but a good part of the world. I also am a subscriber for 50 plus years, and can remember loads of pro-Nixon rubbish that was published. I use to avoid those articles and move on, and that would be my advice to her. There’s still plenty to read every week.
