Michael Serian was born on July 19, 1947 in New York City to Ara and Rose Serian. He died of a heart attack on July 4 at the age of 61 in Panama City, Fla.
Mike was raised in Queens, N.Y. and was an active member of the Armenian community. He loved being both an Armenian and an American. As a child, Mike attended St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church in Bayside, Queens. He was an active member of the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF), and attended Camp Haiastan and AYF Senior Olympics. Mike met his wife of 38 years, Kris Serian, from Worcester, Mass. at the AYF Olympics.
Mike and Kris later moved to Panama City where they raised their three children, Stephanie, Joshua, and Elizabeth. Mike was an active member of the medical community and local church.
Mike was caring, compassionate, selfless, honest, and loved all who knew him. He gave all of his time and asked for nothing in return. He had a strong commitment to his family and his Armenian heritage.
