Two Armenian Servicemen Killed on LoC in Four Days

Arman Ghandilyan (b. 1997), Arayik Ordubekyan (b. 1997) Killed By Azerbaijani Fire

STEPANAKERT, NKR (A.W.)—Armenian serviceman Arman Ghandilyan (b. 1997) was killed by Azerbaijani fire on Sept. 7 on the northeastern direction of the Nagorno-Karabagh (NKR/Artsakh) Line of Contact (LoC). According to a report by the NKR Ministry of Defense, Azerbaijani forces violated the LoC approximately 30 times on the night of Sept. 6-7, firing more than 370 rifle shots on Armenia positions.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of Ghandilyan’s death.

A few days earlier, on the night of Sept. 2-3, another Armenian serviceman, Arayik Ordubekyan (b. 1997), was killed as a result of more ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani forces. During that time, Azerbaijani troops used various caliber weaponry, firing more than 600 shots towards the Armenian positions.

The NKR Defense Army declared that the Azerbaijani side will bear the whole responsibility for these attacks and their consequences.

  1. Has that peace group ever condemned the azeri’s or do they sit around and talk whilst the azeri’s are breaking the ceasefires. Is this fair? why doesn’t the Armenian forces retaliate or make sure that the LOC lines are kept for what it is? Absolute disgrace as it appears it is all one way traffic.

  2. If Artsakh/Karabagh was inhabited by Armenians 95 or more percent of the population for centuries when Stalin gave the territories to Azerbaijan in 1924, why is there any question who that land belongs to?????
If the neutral observers can’t stop the cease fire violations and decide who that territory rightfully belongs to, then maybe, Russia should step in and settle the question since their dictator created the problem.

  3. Our dear and brave compatriots Arman and Arayik may you rest in peace and may the premature end to your precious lives be avenged to teach the Azeris they can not keep breaking the ceasefire and getting away with their murderous ways. Unless these incursions are dealt with punitively they will just keep on happening.
