ANCA-ER to Honor Senators Bob and Elizabeth Dole at Annual Banquet

NEW YORK, N.Y.—The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Eastern Region will be honoring Senators Robert and Elizabeth Dole with its Vahan Cardashian Award, to be presented at the 5th Annual Banquet on Sat., Oct. 15. The ANCA-ER will host the event at the Seaport Hotel and Convention Center in Boston, Mass.

“We encourage you to attend this event as we will recognize several exceptional individuals for their service to our community,” said Joshua Tevekelian, the ANCA-ER Banquet Committee chair. In past years, this event has attracted more than 300 individuals from the Eastern United States, including prominent U.S. officials and numerous Armenian American community leaders.

Senators Robert and Elizabeth Dole will be recognized for their tremendous work for and support of the Armenian people with the ANCA’s Freedom Award. Stephen Dulgarian and Ruth Thomasian will receive the ANCA’s Vahan Cardashian Award, an honor that recognizes a lifetime of grassroots activism for the ANCA and the Armenian Cause. “It is a pleasure to be able to facilitate a program to recognize and express our appreciation to these dedicated individuals,” said Tevekelian. “The future of our cause is dependent on you, our most ardent supporters, and your commitment to the goals of the Armenian cause.”

  1. Bob and Elizabeth Dole are fine examples of what the leaders of the US 
    Congress ought to be – courageous, thoughtful and honest.  Senator Dole’s loyalty to Dr. Hampar Kelikian is legendary.  Elizabeth Dole was a strong voice for Armenia during her tenure in the US Senate.  I am pleased and proud that these two deserving Americans are being honored for being the moral conscience of our nation.
