  1. Hello (again) Kristi:

In agreement with Ani. You are an inspiration to all of us, Kristi.

The troubles and tribulations of one brave woman in an Ancient Land of mystery and challenges and yet you have come away totally accepting and embracing the people and the country. Many would have given up, Kristi.

While my ancestors (grandparents on both sides) escaped from Kayseri, paternal side early 1900’s and meternal side around 1917 ?, my grandpa, leaving behind an only son but lost his wife…and therefore I do read & speak (at one wrote too) Western Armenian I would probably be just as frustrated in Armenia, facing language-&-understanding issues. Many times locals (any country or district) lack the patience with foreigners even using a common language. How much more difficult when foreign languages are involved?

So, once again, thank you for sharing your experiences. I am sure you have many more stories to tell. We look forward to your writings.

    Have A Great Day!

  3. Nothing to add… Just feel that I have to write something… and that is Thank You for this heart-warming story… And I loved your observation: “So we ate–the Armenian default for any situation.”. I will be quoting that!

  4. That is truly authentic experience!!!  You made me realize what I had missed out on my visit there this summer by having SUV with the driver all the time)))

  5. Thanks, everyone. You can imagine that it’s easy to write about such a wonderful experience!
