UNION CITY, N.J. (A.W.)—The Armenian Relief Society Eastern USA, Inc. Board of Regional Directors chairwoman Silva Kouyoumdjian received the following proclamation on May 28, Armenian Independence Day, during the flag-raising ceremony. ARS New Jersey chapter members attended the ceremony and were very honored by the recognition they received.
The Board of Directors thank Verjine Tegrarian for playing an integral role in the dedication of the proclamation to our great organization, as we celebrate our 100th anniversary.

County of Hudson, State of New Jersey PROCLAMATION, By Mayor Brian P. Stack and the Board of Commissioners handed this proclamation to the ARS Eastern USA, Inc.
WHEARAS the City of Union City is pleased to honor Armenian Relief Society Eastern United States and the entire Armenian Community, upon the auspicious occasion of the Armenian Flag raising Ceremony; and
WHEREAS The Armenian Community has made significant contribution to the betterment of the City of Union City, with prodigious contribution to art, music, business and to scores of other fields. The courage and determination of Armenians and of people of Armenian descent who immigrated to the United States is a success story of considerable merit, and involves every aspect of the American Tapestry, from fueling our industries to making the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our Nation appropriately and accordingly these many contributions are herein lauded and recognized; and
WHEREAS Armenian Relief Society Eastern United States, is a true example of the spirit and character of the Armenian people; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I Brian P. Stack, Mayor of the City of Union City and the Union City Board of Commissioners do hereby honor
