Oppie (Asadoorian) Bedrosian, 85, of Cushing Rd., Warwick, R.I., passed away on Thurs., Jan. 12 at Rhode Island Hospital, Jane Brown Unit, in Providence. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Peter “Doc” Bedrosian. Born in Pawtucket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Donig and Satenig (Melkonian) Asadoorian.
Oppie was a 1947 graduate of Bryant College and was vice president and secretary of the former Narragansett Screw Company in Providence for 40 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church Ladies’ Guild and a member of Armenian Youth Federation (AYF).
Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Donna E. Adam and her husband Kenneth of Cranston, and Jean Bilzerian and her husband Barry of Worcester, Mass; the loving grandmother of Rachel Adam, Peter Adam, and James Bilzerian; and dear sister of the late Paul Asadoorian and Dr. Peter Asadoorian.
A funeral service was held on Sat., Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Church in Providence, followed by interment at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
