Yegparian Alerts Burbank Voters to Look for Their Ballots in the Mail

All-mail ballots will arrive in mail boxes the last week of March

Now that Burbank City Council candidate Garen Yegparian has made it from the Primary Election to the General Election, the next round of non-stop campaigning has begun.

There were 13 candidates in the Primary, now there are 6 candidates, vying for 3 seats. If elected on April 14, Yegparian will be the first Armenian American to sit on the Burbank City Council.

Ballots are being mailed out right now from the Burbank City Clerk’s office, which means Burbank voters—including nearly 4,000 Armenian Americans—will be receiving those ballots the last week of March. The Yegparian campaign is urging all of them to vote.

“Only about 1,300 Armenian American registered voters of Burbank’s 3,900 voted in the February Primary,” said Rostom Sarkissian, Yegparian’s 30-year-old, Harvard-educated campaign manager.

“That number is unacceptable,” said Sarkissian. “We appreciate those who voted for Garen, but we need to double that number if we expect to win on April 14,” Sarkissian concluded.

Yegparian is hard at work making public appearances, walking door-to-door, and making fundraising phone calls.

“These are serious times that call for serious leadership,” Yegparian said. “With the help of the Armenian American community and my thousands of non-Armenian friends and supporters, I hope to have an opportunity to serve Burbank in elective office and make a big difference in the lives of Burbankians.”
