ARS “Mayr” Chapter holds annual Christmas bazaar and food fair
NEW YORK—On Sunday, December 8, the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) “Mayr” chapter of New York kicked off the holiday season with its annual Christmas bazaar and food fair at St. Illuminator’s Armenian Apostolic Cathedral. After Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian blessed the parishioners and guests in attendance, “Mayr” chapter chairperson Maria Ebrimian delivered a welcome message. She highlighted that many of the food items for sale were handmade by ARS members and expressed gratitude to her fellow ARS members for their dedication and hard work. Ebrimian also thanked Rev. Fr. Lakissian and the Board of Trustees for their hospitality and continued support of the ARS.
The food fair featured a variety of favorites, including boereg, yalanchi, manti, lahmajoun, choereg, gata and more. Several vendors also participated in the day’s events, including Telesto Designs, Michael Aram, Therapists for Armenia and Armenian Goods, all of whom had meaningful, interesting and quality wares to offer. Additionally, there was a table selling wine, liquors and assorted chocolates, along with an “elephant table” featuring various useful items.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners of the ARS’s cash lottery benefiting Camp Haiastan were announced, and we congratulate them all! All proceeds from the bazaar will be allocated to the following ARS programs: Camp Haiastan, Syrian and Lebanese Armenian Relief.
The ARS “Mayr” chapter is most grateful for the generous support of all who participated this year and made this event so successful and fun!
