Belmont student to pilot “Armenians Like You” research project

BELMONT, Mass.—Belmont High School junior Zepure Merdinian will pilot a research project entitled “Armenians Like You” (ALY). Merdinian co-created ALY with two youth engagement specialists. The project is made possible by the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR). 

The research team is looking for interested volunteers to explore why and how they participate in the Armenian community through suggestions on what their community needs.

Anyone who self-identifies as (a) a member of the Armenian diaspora, (b) a member of the Armenian-American community, (c) a contributor to the Armenian-American community or (d) a supporter of the Armenian-American community is invited to participate.

Four focus group conversations will be conducted by age group at the NAASR Vartan Gregorian Building, 395 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478. The dates and times are as follows:

Saturday, June 24 – 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. – ages 65+
Saturday, June 24 – 12:00 noon-1:30 p.m. – ages 18-24
Saturday, June 25 – 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. – ages 25-45
Saturday, June 25 – 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.  – ages 46-64
