Sassounian: French-Armenians Should Welcome Aliyev in Paris as ‘Chief Hatchet Man’

When President Ilham Aliyev arrives in Paris on Sept. 18, thousands of French-Armenians should greet Azerbaijan’s leader with posters depicting him as the “Hatchet Man-in-Chief”—Bash Baltaji—holding a bloody axe. Interestingly, in all three languages—Azeri, Hungarian, and Turkish—balta means hatchet or axe.

During the protest, French-Armenians should not waste their energy yelling out meaningless slogans, such as “Shame on Baku” or “Shame on Hungary.” Instead, they should deliver the crucial message that Artsakh (Karabagh) be recognized as an independent state, because its Armenian population cannot survive under a despotic regime that glorifies axe-wielding murderers.

Inadvertently, Hungary and Azerbaijan have done a huge favor for Armenians in extraditing and pardoning Lieutenant Ramil Safarov, who bludgeoned to death his sleeping Armenian classmate at a 2004 NATO course in Budapest. Numerous countries and international organizations have condemned Hungary and Azerbaijan for their unsavory actions. Armenians should capitalize on this sordid affair by holding demonstrations in every major city around the world, raising it in every international meeting, and filing lawsuits in European courts against Hungary, Azerbaijan, and NATO. Now that the axe-man’s release has generated worldwide sympathy for Armenians, and clear antipathy for Azerbaijanis, Armenia should take advantage of this narrow and fleeting window of opportunity to recognize Artsakh’s independence and urge others to follow suit. A Google search reveals that thousands of articles were written on this subject in the last 10 days, the overwhelming majority favoring Armenia and criticizing Azerbaijan.

Armenians should explain to the world the futility of holding peace negotiations with Azeri leaders who treat international agreements as toilet paper! The most recent example is the Aug. 15 letter by Azerbaijan’s deputy justice minister to his Hungarian counterpart, assuring him that Safarov would not be released if extradited to Baku. Two weeks later, the axe-man was not only freed, but promoted and rewarded by the Chief Baltaji, who is taking his cues from Turkish leaders on glorifying criminals and treating protocols as meaningless pieces of paper!

Turkish officials, however, are not too anxious to link their names to the odious behavior of Aliyev Jr. A spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement claiming that Turkey had nothing to do with Safarov’s extradition from Hungary, despite the murderer’s expression of gratitude for Turkey’s support after his arrival in Baku. Independent of its accuracy, the Turkish statement does confirm that Azerbaijan is isolated from the rest of the world and abandoned by the major powers—the United States, Russia, and France—all of which have condemned Safarov’s release.

In desperation, Azerbaijan’s intelligence services concocted a fake ASALA (Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia) letter that threatens Azeri officials, so that Aliyev could regain the sympathy of world public opinion. The forged letter included statements that no Armenian would make, claiming, for example, that only 600,000 Armenians were killed during the Armenian Genocide—a false figure circulated only by denialist Turks and Azeris. No Armenian would ever minimize the enormous death toll from 1.5 million to 600,000! In response to this forgery, ASALA issued a statement rejecting the authenticity of the letter. Such fraudulent Azeri actions give credibility to rumors that Azerbaijan may consider “eliminating Safarov,” its “national hero,” in order to blame Armenians for his murder!

Ironically, Armenia defeated Hungary last Sunday to win the World Chess Championship held in Istanbul. Azerbaijan was in 10th place, while Turkey came in 48th. Armenians should be genuinely proud of this incredible accomplishment (for the third time!), but they should refrain from making disparaging remarks about people in other countries. There are good and bad individuals in every nation. Rather than harbor ill feelings toward the people of Hungary, Azerbaijan, or Turkey, Armenians should confront those who deny the Armenian Genocide, extradite a convicted criminal, or glorify an axe-murderer.

Tomris Azeri, the president of the Azerbaijan Society of America and co-founder of Pax Turcica Institute, suggested in an interview posted on News.az that rather than criticize Turkey, I should help resolve the Artsakh conflict! Mr. Azeri stated: “I sincerely wish that before authoring another Turcophobic ode, Mr. Harut Sassounian analyzes what can be done to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.” My advice to Mr. Azeri is to not deny past crimes and to not commit new ones—with or without an axe—and then pursue peaceful solutions, instead of whipping up racist anti-Armenian mass hysteria by the Bash Baltaji and his cohorts.

  1. Harut, Excellent article. I totally agree with you. I hope the Armenian officials, will finally wake up and follow your suggestions.

    Thank you.

  2. Totally agreed. Also at the very least, Sarkisian needs to stop all negotiations immediately and indefinitely.. The mere fact that he keeps showing up to these “peace negotiations” just means that the Azeri’s are able to do anything knowing full well that their actions have no negative consequences.

  3. {bludgeoned to death his sleeping Armenian classmate}

small correction Mr. Sassounian: bludgeon is normally understood to mean a blunt object, like a club or baseball bat; not an edged weapon.

Lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan was hacked to death, and also stabbed multiple times.

Great new title for Sultan Aliyev.

Ding ding ding ding ding. Winner.

It is high time for our community to recognize that 1) People are individuals, and 2) It is never acceptable or constructive to pidgeon-hole people, in any respect, based on their nationality, even in the most innocuous ways such as making assumptions about their likes/dislikes. After all, one of the worst features about genocide is that the perpetrator imposes its own–ethnocentric–concept of identity onto the victims. The victims on April 24, 1915, were parliamentarians, intellectuals, fathers, mothers, friends, neighbours. But to Talaat, they were nothing more than Armenians. Talaat stripped them of their right to form their own identity by forming one for them.

More relevant to today, we have to universalize our cause to make it successful. As soon as we allow others to frame 1915 as, “the Armenian view” versus “the Turkish view,” we lose.

I oppose genocide denial because I am a decent person. Not because I am Armenian and the victims of genocide were my ancestors.

  5. Avery,

I fully agree. I had used “hacked” in my last week’s column, and decided to use another word this time. Hacked is more accurate.
I am glad you liked Aliyev’s new title.

  6. What would be the Reactions, if:

What would be the world reaction, if, for ex. an official Iranian delegate, to revenge the Palestinians kills an Israeli official member during the UN meeting, for example in Switzerland, and if the Swiss authorities accepts the extradition of the criminal to his country according to the Internationally accepted convention, knowing that this country is preparing to destroy the victim’s country. In such a cas e Switzerland would be condemned for the extradition, and would be requested to request the re-extradition of the criminal back to Switzerland, back to the original prison.

If Hungary does not request the re-extradition of the criminal, then the Armenian Authorities should request the International Penal Tribunal in The Hague the re-extradition of the criminal for the completion of the penalty in original prison.
To hand over the criminal to his criminal brother is Big Crime. Hungary is in this classification for this case.

Hungary, as civilized country should cure her un-equivalent mistake.

Unfortunately, there are individuals here who seriously think Safarov’s extradition was a “blood-calling” between two once-nomadic people. Not only is this absurd, these individuals have clearly never opened a history book. Some here have advocated using a nuclear bomb on Turkey- which would make them probably worse people then the 3 pasha’s were. There are individuals who think Turks are genetically programmed to be genocidal savages- very conveniently disregarding every positive aspect and positive element of the entirety of Ottoman history. And there are those who believe the PKK are an Armenian terrorist organization, not a Kurdish one, and who believe 1.5 million people apparently committed mass suicide or something. I still believe is Armenia ever wants AG recognition and reparations, the road to that goal will pass through direct negotiations or mediated negotiations with Turkey. So the Armenian v Turkish cause/view with no exceptions can remain, or it can evolve to Armenian+Turkish cause v. Turkish Government sort of a battle. Because waiting for Kurds to separate from Turkey or waiting for disaster to strike Turkey or waiting for a mistake by Turkey and Russia turning on Turkey is just wishful thinking.

      RVDV:

about what aspects of AG recognition would RoA negotiate with Turkey ?
I would rather think Turkey either accepts it or doesn’t.
I understand negotiating about reparations and such, which is reasonable, but which starts only after unconditional, unequivocal AG recognition.

Also, it will not only be Armenia (RoA): most Armenians – victims of AG by extension – live in (forced) Diaspora.
Unfortunately, Turkey has not shown to be a good faith negotiator to date: since RoA independence it has been trying to drive a wedge between RoA and Diaspora. Any deal that does not involve the Armenian Diaspora will be DOA.

    • “There can be no question about the opening of our borders with Armenia as long as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not solved and the issue of one or two regions is not settled.”

Despite the fact that international structures say “This place is Azerbaijan”, these lands have not been returned to their just owners, and it brings forth our position clearly and precisely.

Our position regarding Armenia will continue to be as it is now. As a party interested in this process, we will continue to always be with Azerbaijan.”} (quotes from News.az article Wed 12 September 2012 )

Have you ever opened a history book to learn that a blood tie between the Magyars (Hungarians) and Turkic tribes is not absurd but a fact? This said, it might not be the determining factor for the release of a Turkic criminal, but one must not totally shrug off the element of race politics. In fact, in many instances race politics prevails as a determinant factor in the conduct of bilateral or multilateral relations. Turkey’s foreign policy towards AzerBEYjan can hardly be explained only by geopolitical or geoeconomic considerations, can’t it? Likewise, Russia’s foreign policy towards Serbia and other Slav nations cannot be solely explained by geopolitical or politico-military considerations. This is obvious, at least for those who opened many history and political science books.

And the road to AG recognition cannot pass through direct or mediated negotiations with Turkey. Negotiations about what? Whether or not genocide happened? Well, Armenians know this firsthand, as do dozens of foreign countries, regional governments, international organizations, professional associations, and scores of genocide scholars, historians, international lawyers, and Nobel Prize winners. Armenians cannot negotiate with an unrepentant, denialist nation; it’s like p**** against the wind. I believe the road to AG recognition passes through the willingness of the Turkish government to educate the society about the dark pages of Turkish history and in societal preparedness to admit the guilt. With the prevailing Kemalist ideology, neo-Ottoman mentality, Section 301, and governmental denialism and distortion, I personally don’t see this happening.

And it is not wishful thinking to wait for a convenient moment to further advance your cause. International politics is not a static event: things change, some countries collapse, others emerge, some alliances break, others shape up. You reason as if Turkey in its current form is there forever. No state formation or civilization lasts forever. Don’t you know this from the history books you’ve opened? What Armenians are good at, among other things, is patience. Because we’ve been around for several millennia, we learnt how to be patient and wait for favorable circumstances. You may call it wishful thinking; we call it rich and turbulent history-driven wisdom.

      Cheers.

    • RVDV.

How many offers of apology or mending of relations do you know, since you sound like the one who opened many history books, which were made as a result of direct or mediated negotiations between the victim and the perpetrator? Do we know of any negotiations between the Jews and the Germans that led to German Chancellor’s apology and German government’s ongoing reparations to Israel? Or better even, from your history books do you know of any direct or mediated negotiations between the Bulgarian citizens of Turkish descent–descendents of the Ottoman invaders of the Balkans and ethnic Bulgarians that led to Bulgarian government’s condemnation of the forceful assimilation of the country’s ethnic Turkish population and the forceful expulsion of Turks as a form of ethnic cleansing?

      Thanks for enlightening us.

Thanks for bringing forth Erdogan‘s statement. Very timely!

      RVDV
Obviously, a third, unrelated issue is brought forward by your PM as a precondition for normalizing Turkey’s relations with Armenia. Why do you think Erdogan focuses on an issue that has no relation whatsoever with Turkey’s direct bilateral relations with Armenia? Don’t tell us its only geopolitical or geoeconomic interest, and not, to certain extent, a blood call. You’ll insult our intellect.

    • Serko: I know that in the 5-6th centuries there was close contact between Turks and Magyars and there are certainly intermarriage and whatnot. But that’s ancient history. In 1526 the Ottoman Empire destroyed Medieval Hungary. Just 40 years before the battle of Mohacs Hungary was in its golden age and a major European power. I mean this with no sense of pride of what we did to the Hungarians but they were absolutely annihilated at Mohacs. To the extent that is has been said that Hungary has never had the amount of power in the 500 years since Mohacs as it did before the Ottoman Army of Sulieman the Magnificent came. You can also look that the Battle of Belgrade in 1456 between Hungarians and Turks. The day of the battle is National Memorial day for the Hungarians- a day of remembering their heros who defended the nation from the Ottoman threat. What blood call are you talking about? The Ottomans and Hungarians were at each other throats for decades.

Comparing Turks and Hungarians with Turks and Azeris and Russians with Slavs is incorrect. There is a continuous historical bond between those, there is a common religion, a common language- Turks and Azeris at least. The relations of Turks and Azeris and Russians with Slavs has consistently been with mutual respect and alliances. Not marked with warfare and destruction as with Turks and Hungarians.

    • Armen: I have opened a history book or two, and I cannot remember another incident of country denying a crime such as this (and with success) for this long. Can you recall another nation denying a genocide? No? Then perhaps we should approach it in a different manner.

      Avery:

“Despite the fact that international structures say “This place is Azerbaijan”, these lands have not been returned to their just owners”

Azeris are not the just owners of Karabagh, but, technically, international structures DO, in fact, say that “This place is Azerbaijan.” From a historical standpoint, it is clear Armenia is not occupying anything- you cannot occupy your own land. But from an international law perspective it is an unrecognized Armenian republic administering what is supposed to be sovereign Azerbaijani land. Seeing as international law is only followed whenever people feel like it, I don’t regard that interpretation as legitimate

My point in saying Armenia needs to negotiate with Turkey is that I do not hold the belief that unconditional, unequivocal AG recognition along with full monetary, property, and territory compensation can be achieved. Maybe, hopefully in fact, I hope I’m wrong but…

Serko: ” Why do you think Erdogan focuses on an issue that has no relation whatsoever with Turkey’s direct bilateral relations with Armenia?”

Because normalized relations with Armenia with the flip side being severely damaged relations with Azerbaijan isn’t worth it to the Turkish government. Would you want Armenia to have good relation with Turkey if it meant relations with Russia would be damaged?

    • RVDV,

The probelm Armenians had with Turks is over 90 years. Even if their remarks are bad, they don’t recal any good to generate good remarks. And the crimes towards Armenia are not limited to genocide and goes back to 1800’s.

It’s going to take significant number of Turks to understand what they should in order to convince Armenian yought and nation there is no reason to diminize a country. And that is only going to happen over time, rather than immediately.

And mentioning Armenian remarks, won’t earase Turkish anti Armenian remarks either, which clearly outnumbers us by many folds.

And for Azeris. Well, I can’t belive what you are saying about them, since so far I just see a termite mound full of clonned termites who hate Armenia. No diversity in their mentality for hurting us.

I don’t want to hate a nation, but if they are up on arms as a whole country then they should know for sure we are standing guard from Armenia to diaspora.

    • RVDV
Actually, the close contact and blood transfusion, so to speak, between Turkic tribes and the Magyars happened not in the 5-6th centuries, but in the 7-9th centuries; and up until the 10th century the Magyars spoke both the Hungarian and Turkic languages. So it’s not that ancient, at least for us, Armenians, who’ve been around for 4-5 millennia. For newly popped-up Turks, 1000 years is “ancient” history, we understand. I know that Ottomans and Hungarians were at each other throats for decades, just as many other nations loathed the invader Turks. My point was about interbreeding with the Turkic tribes, not warfare and destruction afterwards, that must have left a mark in the Hungarian national character. Several centuries of communal life under the Turkic Khazar tribes, as historian Arthur Koestler admits, “profoundly transformed their [the Magyars’] national character”. This has nothing to do with comparing, which I never intended, Turks and Hungarians with Turks and Azeris and Russians with Slavs. I just showed, based on historical literature, that there was also a historical bond between the Hungarians and Turkic nations. Whether or not it is continuous as between the Turks and Azeris, I don’t know. But I know that there was a tendency in the modern times on the part of some Hungarian youth groups to explore their interconnections and, possibly, roots, with the Turkic nations.

    • RVDV
Me: “Why do you think Erdogan focuses on an issue that has no relation whatsoever with Turkey’s direct bilateral relations with Armenia?”
You: “Because normalized relations with Armenia with the flip side being severely damaged relations with Azerbaijan isn’t worth it to the Turkish government.”

But, Sir, in the post above you admitted that “there is a continuous historical bond[…], there is a common religion, a common language- between Turks and Azeris”. Then how can you say that Turkey refuses to normalize relations with Armenia only because the flip side will be severely damaged relations with Azerbaijan? It is not that simple. There IS an element of race politics in Turkey’s despicable behavior, and not to admit this is just self-deception. May I remind you that back in 1991 Turkey recognized Armenia’s independence and both countries had their borders open up until 1993. Mind you, the conflict between the Artsakh Armenians and Azerbaijan was ongoing. Therefore, your argument that for Turkey normalized relations with Armenia would have a flip side of severely damaged relations with Azerbaijan, doesn’t hold water. When it’s become clear that the Armenians started winning the war, the Turks closed the border in solidarity with their Tatar brethren. To me, this has to do, to a larger extent, with race politics.

You: “Would you want Armenia to have good relations with Turkey if it meant relations with Russia would be damaged?”

First, I don’t think Armenia can ever have “good relations” with Turkey until Turkey repents and makes reparations. Second, Turkey and Russia don’t have an issue on their bilateral agenda, as Armenians and Azeris have, that would preclude Armenia from having normal relations with both of these nations.
Third, even if Turkey and Russia had an issue on their bilateral agenda, it’d be unwise for Armenia to refuse establishment of diplomatic relations and close border with any of those two states. But Turkey does precisely this: because of its affinity with the Azeris and an unrelated bilateral issue between the Armenians and the Azeris, Turks not only refuse to establish diplomatic relations but essentially impose a blockade (a bellicose act) by closing the border with Armenia. It is more than a geopolitical consideration. It is clearly also, and mainly, a race politics.

    • RVDV,

What different manner? A crime is a crime, as on every crime scene and with every perpetrator. A criminal either repents or he’s placed in such conditions that make him repent or he’s brought to trial. I know no “different manner” from the books I’ve opened. But maybe you’ve opened books that describe such a “manner” that actually worked in real life? Please, do enlighten us.

If you cannot remember another incident of country denying a crime with success and for this long, then something must be fundamentally wrong with Turkish national psyche, I’m afraid. And if something is wrong with Turkish national psyche, why are you inviting the victim to be a part in Turkish bedlam?

On an individual level, not from the books you’ve opened, but from your life experience. How many times have you seen a victim negotiating with an unrepentant offender? And if you’ve seen such situations (I’d be astonished if you have), how many times an unrepentant offender admitted guilt? Curious to know.

  8. Even if the Ax murderer phsyco didn’t get exterdited, Azeris always like to harm Armenians every opportunity they get.
The Azeri leadership has got that country into a hypnotized hating state of mind.
But, every did by Azeis narrows down to Aliev and his henchmen in the

But, to all Azeris who keep on bluffing about ASALA. There is no evidence of ASALA activities against Azeris, because if there was, you couldn’t stop them.
And why would ASALA want to kill Azeris for after 25 years and no ASALA attacks?
Just bringing up an event that killed less than 200 Turkish deplomats as an act of revange of 1.5 million who lost their lives to genocide, before 25 years ago is non-sense. And this has nothing to do with what Safarov did in 2004 and got away with his heinous crime with promotion and reward from the mastermind of his crimes, the Azeri leaders.

If ASALA was wrong, keep your nose out of it and let Turks speak for themselves. But, you wont, because you need an alabi for what your buddy Ramil Safarov did. You need to speak for Turks, because without the genocide your country could not have been created.

And why would ASALA news all of a sudden come up with letters and evidences?
Where was Shaparova with her big mouth, to at least mention it before Safarov’s exterdition?

Ultimately, the whole Azeri nation is on the spot light and your little games won’t make God or the World let you get away with it, specially with what the greeting of that Psycho. This really puts your country into a new axis of evil cathegory.

  9. The title of Baş Baltaçi fits Ilham Aliyev perfectly well in connection to the axe murderer Safarov’s illegal release and pardon, next to chicken-hawk, for chickening out during the Artsakh liberation war. The draft-dodger and coward Aliyev has now turned into a hawk beating the drums of another war. I soon hope to see headlines reading: The head axe-man got the axe himself.

It seems, from the overwhelming worldwide support on this case, that this sad chapter in our history has turned into a blessing in disguise and we must take full advantage and make maximum use of it. But I think it is very important to make sure the axe murderer’s cowardly, racist and despicable act is not treated as an isolated incident and that it is placed in historical context.

We need to bring full attention to the world community by shedding lights on the historical collaboration and the anti-Armenian stance between Turkey and Azerbaijan, and the role Turkey not only played in the release of the axe murderer abroad but the role Turkey’s government officials play to encourage and spread pro-Azerbaijani lies and incite anti-Armenian sentiments at home, while all along its Foreign Minister Davutoglu was cunningly advocating his zero problem policy in the region.

We should educate the world by exposing Aliyev’s bloody hands and deep pockets from petrodollars used to bribe corrupt foreign officials, knowingly or otherwise, to buy out the freedom of an axe murderer at the expense of Armenian lives and his own impoverished nation in attempts to falsely try to lift up the morale of his demoralized people in order to continue to rob them and hang on to his autocratic rule.

We should also connect the dots by exposing the relations among NATO, the tepid reaction from NATO toward its member states Hungary and Turkey involved in this scandal, the indirect collaboration between non-NATO member Azerbaijan and NATO member Hungary via Turkey in favor of its proxy Azerbaijan, and finally the oil and other energy resources shipped from Azerbaijan to NATO states to buy their silence on the matter.

I also found Turkey’s reaction to the manufactured ASALA letter interesting in the sense that Turkey was so eager and quick to accept the authenticity of this forged letter while denying all telegrams issued by the Ottoman Interior Minister Talaat pasha, one of the main masterminds of the Armenian Genocide, to his governors to begin the mass deportation and execution of the Armenians under the cover of WWI in 1915.

  10. In lock-step with their national tradition of manufacturing forgeries and myths, the Safarov affair, which has blown up in Sultan Bash Baltaji Aliyev’s face, is the latest and the greatest candidate for post-processing.

The new, improved myth has been completed. After very successful focus-group tests in Azerbaijan and Turkey, it is ready for the Fall season release. Through our confidential sources in Baku, we have obtained the final version that is being sent to all Azeri government departments, news outlets , and educational institutions.

[Our great hero Safaroglu went to Hungary to try to teach peace and peaceful coexistence to warmongering NATO thugs.
There were two Armenian officers from Erivan Goyche of occupied Western Azerbaijan there also: their goal was to spread Anti-Turkic, Anti-AzeriTatarTurk hate, of course.

While in Budapest, our hero Safaroglu went out of his way to smile and be friendly with the Armenian invaders.
Sadly, in response, the hateful Armenians insulted our glorious flag, and insulted the honor of Azeri women.
Yet our peace loving proud son of peace loving Azeri people always smiled and said “Hello” and “Xoş gəlmisiniz, gyavur”.

Frustrated, the hateful Armenians decided to murder our son Safaroglu.
On that tragic night, Margaryan, accompanied by the other Armenian terrorist, quietly entered the room of sleeping hero Safaroglu.
Being a highly trained officer of the glorious Azerbaijan military, our hero sensed people entering his room even in deep sleep.
All Azeri officers are trained to sense danger even in sleep.

When he awoke in the dark, he could see Margaryan standing over him with an ax: all Azeri military men are trained to see in the dark.
Being a highly trained officer of the glorious Azerbaijan military, and being trained by Azeri experts in hand-to-hand combat, Safaroglu wrested the ax from the attacker. As is well known, Azeris invented martial arts and hand-to-hand combat 1000s of years ago.
The other Armenian ran away: Armenians always run away like cowards when confronted with brave Azeri askyar.

A struggle ensued. Our hero, while defending his own life, tried to calm down and reason with the crazy Armenian.
Even though our hero tried his best to arrest Margaryan peacefully, the ax somehow slipped from his hand and hit the attacker on the neck all by itself, and tragically severed an artery. Our hero immediately applied compression, administered CPR, and dialed 911 on his newly released iPhone5.

But it was too late. Our hero Safaroglu stood over the limp body of the attacker – in total shock at such a tragic loss of a young human life.
He stood there in a moment of silence, paying respects to the man, who had tried to kill him just a few minutes ago: that’s the kind of peace loving people we Azerbaijan-oglar are.

Safarolgu was in such shock, that he did not realize he was still holding the bloody ax. When Hungarian police arrived, they unfairly arrested him: all Christian gyavurs stick together.

Frustrated Armenians bribed the Hungarian court to find our innocent hero so-called guilty of so-called “murder”.
Our superb intelligence services discovered that Armenians had paid €3 billion to the Hungarian so-called judge.
After careful planning, our special commando units were able to free our hero Safaroglu from Hungarian prison and return him to the waiting arms of his eager compatriots in Baku.

Sadly, while celebrating the anniversary of his heroic return with his close friends and family, our hero Safaroglu fell to his death from the 20th floor balcony of the luxury apartment that our Great Leader Sultan Bash Baltaji Aliyev awarded him for his heroic acts. The false rumors being spread that he was pushed are Armenian lies]
