  1. He should never have signed it in the first place.Almost all the Diaspora was against it apart from a few western grant takers.Turkey is doing Armenia a great favour by not signing it till now. What is stopping serjuk to pull the protocols now instead of waiting and spinning.

    • The Protocols were signed and would be sent to the parliaments. Neither states applied that. Then , Armenian presedent abondoned the protocols. If both governments would try to receive the parliaments’ decisions that would be the start of the healing of the relations between the states and nations…

    • The “healing of the relations between the states and nations” should start from an apology from the Turkish government for the genocidal extermination of the Armenians by Turkey’s legal predecessor state, the Ottoman empire.

  2. HE NEEDS TO REITERATE THAT ARTSAKH WILL NEVER EVER BE PART OF ANYTHING AZERBAIJAN AGAIN. ITS THAT SIMPLE. THE MORAL ANGLE IS OBVIOUS. AZERBAIJAN’S REGIME IS A DESPOTIC HUMAN RIGHT VIOLATING TYPE. ALSO WHY HE DIDN’T BRING UP THE ILLEGAL TREATY OF KARS THAT STILL HAS NAKHICHEVAN UNDER AZERI CONTROL IS BEYOND ME. SOVIET ANNEXATION IS ILLEGAL AND NULL AND VOID ONCE THAT SYSTEM CEASED TO EXIST.

    • Joe, do you mean the treaty of Brest Litovsk by which the new Soviet Union gave up Kars and Ardahan to the Ottoman Empire, in 1918? I don’t know of a treaty of Kars but maybe that’s just something that I don’t know.

  3. Politicians… Representatives of the world’s second oldest profession, after prostitutes. I remember when Sargsyan said in 2009 that it was the Armenian government who initiated the so-called Zurich protocols. Now, in 2017, the same politician is saying that Armenia will declare them null and void. So, it took eight years for the RoA government to understand what Turks are and have always been? Shouldn’t we, Armenians, know them better than anyone else in the world? Ugh…

  4. A well spoken and documented speech. It is high time that somebody spoke about the inability of turkey to abide or to improve relations. Obviously they (turkey) are incapable of understanding the normality of treaties and human rights. As for azerbaijan, a magnificent description by President Sarkisian. Factual. Remember America, Israel and Britain have still not recognised the Armenian genocide. We all however know why? and that is a disgrace.

  5. I am am more certain than ever that the path to prosperity for Armenia is not through Turkey. The best hope for our people is an alliance with Georgia. Incidentally, hardly any effort towards that end has been practically null during the last quarter century. So get to work on it before Armenia wastes another 25 years. Russia and to some extent the United States have been playing off our adversaries while Armenia whittles away.

  6. Why wait till the Spring of 2018.
Why prolong the agony on a protocol that did not have the support of Armenians. Turkey will never ratify it.
Declare now that the Protocols with Turkey are “Null and Void”.
    Vart Adjemian

    • I agree.
The Protocols should have been annulled years ago.
Indeed they should never have been signed.
      Why wait until 2018?
      Do it now.

  7. Considering that the speech dealt with serious issues, I don’t want to sound flippant. However, I think that Pres. Sargsyan needs somebody to correct the English in his speeches. There are several glaring mistakes as well as some awkward choices of words.
