  1. I think this is a very rationally written, analytical article. Well done. I agree with all of your points.

    • Because as I wrote in my column, the President of the United States is accusing Turks of killing 1.5 million Armenians.

  2. A nation selling itself to the Russians daily has no basis to accuse the USA or its President of giving in to pressure from the Turks.
Yes the US should recognize the genocide but there is no reason to accuse the US of cowardice.

    • Me too proud to be American ( Armenian) you have to have Armenian blood running in your veins and not knowing your name at age of 3 and the orphanage gives you a makeup name you wan,t even write what ever in your mind

  3. the Israeli/Jewish lobby has a lot of influence in the US. I believe they are still working behind the scenes to prevent genocide recognition in the US. They lose leverage over the turks if the US and they acknowledge it.

  4. “There is an eighth stage in every genocide: Denial. It is actually a continuation of the genocide, because it is a continuing attempt to destroy the victim group psychologically and culturally, to deny its members even the memory of the murders of their relatives.”

    * I quoted this from the genocidewatch.org website and I strongly recommend it as a reference source.

  5. Why are we still expecting the recognition of genocide from American presidents every year, it appears as if we have to prove to them, time and time again an undeniable truth? It’s not the first time that “a world leading powerful country” like the United States, puts aside all the values that made this country great, and turns its head and ignores its touted duty as “the” protector of human rights, and sheepishly obeys what a dictator dictates our president. don’t they have guts to call a fact by its name? It’s a shame.

  6. At last we are reasoning in good way. this was sopposed to happen at least much time ago-

  7. Do you have anything on the Turkish historian who published a long-hidden Turkish note in the last few days about this matter, outlining what the Turks wanted done to the captive Armenians?

  8. look all you presidents who refuses to use the word how would you like it if you lived in fear like that how would you save yourself….you just don’t get it……….ISIS THEN AND ISIS NOW

  9. Come on USA we’re better than this! If the president cannot call it what it is, then we need to get the five remaining states to recognize the genocide. There are five US states left to recognize this genocide.

  10. To my best knowledge, whatever Erdogan says, whatever the US or other countries’ presidents will or will not recognize, that’s a nonerasable FACT in history. A truth which will eventually, one great day, rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of deceit and denial. Amen!

  11. Countries who denied armenian genocide or any other genocide, and can not admit the facts, they can not concider their country great or democratic.Ajective’s great means first, honesty , powerful and more…., If US of America hesitates to admit Armenian genocide because their alliance with Turks, then it is a shame for powerful country like America.
