The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Bureau issued a statement mourning the loss of Unger Raffi Bchakjian, the leader of the defense of the Armenian neighborhoods of Aleppo, who was killed in a rocket attack on June 10. Bchakjian was born in 1961.
In recent weeks, Aleppo’s Armenian-populated districts have been under attack. Several civilians were killed between May 26 and June 10, including Maral Guligian, Vazken Jabaghchourian, Levon Kelkhacherian, Hovsep Janessian, Khatchig Aboulaboutian, and Betty Nersessian.
The attacks, which have reportedly come from militant opposition groups, have injured several civilians and destroyed many buildings, including homes and stores. On May 26-27, the Vergine Gulbenkian Birthing Center-Hospital, which had served as a senior citizen’s home during the war, was extensively damaged in a rocket attack. As a result of the attack, the senior citizens of the center were relocated for the third time since 2012.

This is very sad news; I don’t understand why Armenians in Aleppo prefer to risk their lives rather than to immigrate to Armenia. After all that was why we wanted to be independent.
Or if they will have to stay and fight; they should be supplied with heavy weaponry and in addition Armenia should come to their defence.
The Armenian community had been living in peace and harmony in Aleppo and other Syrian cities for many decades. They have always been law abiding and supportive of the government institutions.Assad has been
a good leader and has been supportive of the Armenian Jewish and other ethnic groups.
That was the case until President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Vlinton decided the create turmoil in Suria by giving arms to radical Islamic groups and asked them to overthrow the President Assad.Obama and Hillary had no reason to ask for Assad’s removal. Their inept actions have encouraged the radical Islamic groups to destroy the Chrstian pulsation and their properties.Obamavand Hillary policies have been a complete disaster for all Christians, Jews and moderate Islamic populations.

Obama has caused lots of havoc for the Syrian, and especially our beloved Armenians through his inept decisions. He drew the RED Line, then he went to sleep while innocent Christians got beheaded. I pray for our Armenian people, but we must elect someone now who has a backbone to know what he is doing as President of USA. And Hillary should be in jail now!

Why do Armenians stay there? I just don’t understand. Sure, a lot of them have businesses and all, but they could just take their assets to the Republic and start new. If I had the choice between staying in Syria and having my head separated from my shoulders or going to Armenia, then I would chose the latter.
*** We have a safe & beautiful Country now, Armenians should go back to Armenia, they have no reason to stay in a war thorn Muslim country. I do not understand what is stopping them, do they like to be under constant bombardment?
