Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, has taken the bold step to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.

By issuing such a statement at this time, he obviously intends to try to convince the public that the ADL has always recognized the Armenian Genocide, which is patently false.

He boasts of the 103-year-old record of the ADL, but that record contains irrefutable evidence, not only of the ADL’s refusal to recognize the Armenian Genocide, but of its active attempts to help thwart its recognition by the U.S. Congress.

That stain on its record cannot be eradicated, only atoned for.

Common decency dictates that such detestable actions never again be resorted to.

Yes, indeed! The ADL’s actions come “Too Little, Too Late!”

Sincerely,

C.K. Garabed

  1. Politics is politics. The fact that the ADL is now acknowledging the Genocide is a victory for Armenians. Now we need to hold their feet to the fire. When we push for a resolution recognizing the Genocide next year, the ADL should be advocating right along side.

  2. I agree with Mr. Garabed that the ADL’s tardiness in recognizing the Armenian holocaust is reprehensible. I also believe that it was politically motivated. I agree that it is a too little, too late thus I question wherefrom and in what form is the misdeed atoneable. What kind of pressure can the ADL put on the offenders to rectify the lingering effects of the horrific genocide. In fact, the Nazis took a page out of the book of the Turks in commuting their atrocities. Germany continues to pay for its inhumanity. Can anyone get the Turks to do the same?

  3. to dr.saba demian-
….. can anyone get the turks to do the same. i don’t think so.
we cannot compare turks with germans. the later are a highly educated nation that have come out of the 2nd. world war as the strongest country in europe. turkey is a mean spirited nation and has been throughout history. can you compare chancellor merkel to the nut case erdogan… of course not.
