WATERTOWN, Mass.— The Armenian Youth Foundation Board of Directors announced that its 17th annual golf tournament will be held on June 27, at the iconic Franklin Country Club in Franklin, Mass.—the location of many prestigious LPGA, MGA, and USGA events. For those who have not played the course previously, it also holds the distinction of abutting another iconic real estate parcel—the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) Camp Haiastan. It’s not uncommon for golfers to hear the sweet sounds of John Berberian playing over the Camp’s P.A. system on a number of holes.
The Tournament is one of the Armenian Youth Foundation’s largest fundraising events of the year, which in turn, allows the organization to continue to provide financial support to a wide range of organizations benefitting Armenian-American youth. Past beneficiaries of the Foundation’s support include: the Armenian Relief Society’s (ARS) Youth Connect Program; the Hovnanian School of New Milford, N.J.; St. Stephen’s Armenian Day School, Watertown, Mass.; and AYF Camp Haiastan.
Foursomes are available to corporate sponsors as well as individual participants. The tournament will feature three divisions of players scheduled for a 12 p.m. shotgun start (box lunches will be provided on the course). Registration and access to the new driving range and practice facility begins at 10:30 a.m.
In addition to awards for divisional champions, closets to the pin, and longest drive, the Golf Committee is also planning an awards dinner, prize raffle and live auction following the Tournament.
