Sassounian: Turkey Besieged by Armenian Successes Long Before Genocide Centennial

Turkish leaders made a serious tactical error in 2011. They were so preoccupied with countering the upcoming tsunami of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide in 2015, that they lost sight of the more immediate political storms facing them.

French President Sarkozy

Armenians quickly capitalized on the Turkish blunder, managing to score a series of early successes: 1) the French Parliament adopted a bill banning denial of the Armenian Genocide, 2) the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution calling on Turkey to return Armenian churches and other properties to their rightful owners, 3) an Israeli parliamentary committee held a public hearing on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, and 4) a U.S. Federal Court may shortly issue a default judgment against the Republic of Turkey.

Facing a tenacious French President who refused to be intimidated by insults and threats, Turkey reacted with slash and burn tactics that aggravated its problems and undermined its bid for European Union membership. By withdrawing its ambassador from Paris, the Turkish government deprived itself of the services of a capable diplomat at a crucial time when the French Senate is about to take up the bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide. Judging from past experience, the Turkish Ambassador will be sent back to Paris soon, making his dramatic recall an exercise in futility and attracting the ridicule of the diplomatic community. If Turkey withdraws its ambassador every time a country recognizes the Armenian Genocide or adopts a decision contrary to Ankara’s wishes, it will isolate itself from the rest of the world.

Even more damaging to Turkey’s interests is the threat to boycott goods imported from countries that are deemed to be “unfriendly.” Turkey would simply damage its own economy by purchasing inferior products at higher prices from alternative sources. Moreover, should Turkey stop buying highly technical items such as passenger planes and advanced missiles from the few countries that make them, it will end up with an antiquated air transport system and a weakened military. In recent days, however, Turkish leaders have sheepishly withdrawn their bombastic boycott threats, after realizing that the World Trade Organization would impose severe penalties on Turkey for violating its membership obligations.

Turning to the House resolution on return of church properties, the Turkish government and its high-priced lobbying firms were caught flat-footed on how to counter such a delicate matter. After years of success in derailing Armenian Genocide resolutions, the Turkish side was clueless about fighting a motion that called for the return of church buildings and other properties to their respective Christian communities. Consequently, the resolution was approved by a vote of 43-1 in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and by more than two-thirds of the full House. This is the first time that the U.S. Congress has gone on record demanding that Turkey restore the rights of genocide victims beyond the mere acknowledgment of the Genocide. In the coming months and years, Armenians will be presenting an ever growing list of demands to international organizations, parliaments around the world, and the Turkish government itself.

The third positive development took place in Israel, when the Knesset’s Education Committee held an unprecedented three-hour public hearing on the Armenian Genocide, despite pressure from Turkey, its lackey Azerbaijan, and the Netanyahu government. This discussion, held in front of TV cameras, and not behind closed doors, is expected to continue at a later date. It is shameful that the Israeli government continues to obstruct recognition of the Armenian Genocide, perhaps hoping to regain Turkey’s trust and friendship. Rather than playing political games with mass murder, the Netanyahu government should acknowledge the truth of the Armenian Genocide for the sake of its own reputation.

The final salutary development is an expected default judgment to be issued by a U.S. Federal Court against the Republic of Turkey on two lawsuits demanding payment for Armenian properties confiscated during the Genocide. Such a judgment would be a stern warning to the Turkish authorities that they cannot continue to enjoy the ill-gotten gains from the blood money of genocide victims.

Long before the arrival of the Armenian tsunami in 2015, Turkey is increasingly confronted by pressures for greater human rights and Kurdish autonomy, and far-reaching Armenian demands, while experiencing acute problems with virtually all of its neighbors. A Turkish regime besieged with serious internal and external challenges is less of a threat to its own population and its neighborhood, and more likely to settle past injustices and present conflicts.

  1. Great article.
We should not rest on our laurels: we must redouble our efforts on all fronts.
Increase the pressure on the Denialist dam – until it bursts.
It has developed good size cracks recently. No letup – keep that jackhammer going.
And we shouldn’t wait for 2015: it is an important date, but things won’t end then. Just a milestone, and then we push on.

We must also massively increase our efforts on behalf of Armenia and Artsakh.
    Our #1 Priority.
Both need to be economically and militarily very strong, much stronger than now.

    • John the Turk.. iw ould recommend you shutting your mouth starting now.. because eventually you will do that.. might as well start now.. don’t wait until the end.. it will hurt more then than now…..

    • So let’s see what all Turks have got left:

On January 04 2011, during a conference Davutoglu said, “Turkey will continue diplomatic activity beyond the region to include the world”, comparing the Turkish diplomat to a “fireman running down to extinguish the fires in his area”.
He noted that Turkey will be the state which senses the danger early and accelerates to prevent crises and the outbreak of fires in the region, and makes alternative plans for peaceful settlements, adding: “we do not want our Diplomats only to be firefighters, but to be like architects of cities involved in the mapping of the political future for the region through hard work and diplomatic activity early on and in bold way “.
Of course the allegory of “fireman” was not conceived by Davutoglu,
“If your neighbor’s house is on fire, you don’t haggle over the price of your garden hose,” Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd president of the United States (1933 -1945).
Davutoglu continues, “ Turkey paid a heavy price for standing idly on the events occurring in the region, both during World Wars I and II or in the last two decades”, considering it has the right to contribute to the formation of the region and determine its future, because of its expertise and capabilities.
Here is a partial list of Davutoglu’s/Turkey’s contributions to the region:

      a) Failed attempt to mediate Taliban and the West.
      b) Failure of the famous “Zero problem with neighbors” .
      c) Failed attempt to mediate Kosovo Serbia talks, trying to outshine EU mediation.
      d) Failed attempt to change the Ottoman history in Kosovo educational system.
      e) Failed to solve the Syrian conflict.
      f) Failed to mediate Israeli Palestinian conflict.
      g) Failed to resolve the Kurdish issue.
      h) Failed to counter the influence of Iran in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
      i) Supporting the wrong political group in recent Iraqi election (Ayad Allawi).
      j) Failed attempt to expand her influence in Lebanese Political arena.
      k) Failed to become an EU member
      l) Failed in securing Shalit’s freedom.
      m) Failed in mediating between Palestinian factions.
      n) Failed in controlling the Egypt situation specially the Islamic Brotherhood in Egypt.
      o) Failed in expanding her influence in the Gulf (in an attempt to counter GCC).
      p) Failed “Towards East” plan. (Economy based hegemony).
      q) Grossly failed in containing the Arab Spring.
      r) Failed attempt in forcing Israel to apologize for Marmara incident.
      s) Failing to fill the leadership vacuum in ME after having a major role in deposing Mubarak in Egypt.
      t) Failed to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza
      u) Supporting Kaddafi instead of the rebels during the initial/critical stage in Libyan uprising.
      v) Still PKK is out of control in Turkey.
      w) A failed double standard policy with Iran
      x) Failed efforts in annexation of the Northern Iraq.
      y) Failed to bully Cypress in hydrocarbon exploration in the Mediterranean.

  2. A VERY GOOD ANALYSIS OF THE STATUS QUO AND BEYOND.

    WELL DONE MR SASSOUNIAN.

    ZOHRAB MALEK
    AMBASSADOR
PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ARMENIA TO THE UNITED NATIONS’
FOOD AND AGRICULTURE AGENCIES IN ROME

  3. The Turkish nonsensical denial is teetering as less and less entities are willing to help them; Its only a matter of time..Also, we do need to keep in mind that as these entities have helped Turkish denial in the past out of political expediency, so too will it’s reversal be out of political expediency. So lets not get too excited for others jumping to Armenians aid. That is why its always best FOR US to unite in one cause and like Avery said, make Armenia the strongest economically, politically and militarily as we can. Last, the cronies currently running Armenia should be next on the Diaspora’s list as to me, these are traitors who’s only interest is THEIR POCKETS..

(PS, why does the Armenian weekly deny comments from Armenians while allowing Turks to use derogatory statements like John the Turk uses? Makes me want to bypass the Armenian Weekly as well)

    • John, if think about it a little – one or two levels below the obvious – you will see the wisdom of AW’s policy.

(btw: many of my comments get flushed also – don’t feel bad)

  4. I guess it’s time to pack up America and return to Europe. Heaven forbid we gain on the genocide against the American indians…remember to turn he lights off.

  5. The problem with today’s Turkey is they need to understand 2 major issues!
One being they are not the Ottamons anymore and two they need to deal with there dark history, there is nothing to talk about there was a large native Armenian community in Turkey before 1915 now they are not there end of story!
With Turkey pushing it’s problems under the rug for the past 100 years has only brought Turkey bigger problems.

The fact of the matter is country’s like US,Isreal,France and others will hold this
issue against Turkey for there advantage so admit your mistakes and move on!

  6. Well written article indeed… the fight will continue and with even fierce force.. WE NEED TO DO THIS UNITED friends.. ONLY UNITED…

  7. Mr.Erdogan has done terrible threats to the French Government if the law penalysing the negation of Armenian genocide passes, but our president did not let him intimidate him by his threats.

    • Louise Kiffer.. I hope your Senate will not cave in and continue the great deed.. we are waiting with much anticipation to get this bill into law for real… Thank you for the French govt and for the French people… God Bless

  8. Of course Harut sassounian always writes to the point. As I have said several times he is our ex-officio spokesman this side of the Atlantic.
I was gladdned to read in his before last paragraph- above- (at long last) use of ¨BLOOD MONEY¨ ….of genocide victims..
I have consistently advocated that the future main Lawsuit(to be drawn up by our Armenian BAR associaiton´s International law experts top few) to be lodged at int´l court of justice ICJ first and foremostly on that Demand. As it has precedent(s)
    A.The jewish from Germany.
    B. Vartges Yeghiayan,Geragos and associate from NEW YORK LIFE and AXA.
This is where our BAR Associaiton( one of my projected 15 fields of Prof. Colleagues Assoc.)members begin to act.
We need to support them. Then we can proceed with other areas of Claims,as a result of latter´s having reached JUST VDERDICT!!!

  9. Gayztag

I have consistently advocated that the future main Lawsuit(to be drawn up by our Armenian BAR associaiton´s International law experts top few) to be lodged at int´l court of justice ICJ first and foremostly on that Demand. As it has precedent(s)

This will be a good start in the right direction. who knows you may even gain my support after you got a verdict in your favour.

    • John the Turk.. i would not be making fun of the situation knowing very well that your type will be giving the apology and yes even your money that your govt stole from my ancestors.. so prepare yourself to have a good case when they come after you.. They meaning not only the collectors but also the Man above… i doubt you will have strong case and there you have it….. who will be laughing then, denialist John the Turk…???

    • JTT,

iF A NEUTRAL TRIBUNAL SAID IT WAS GENOCIDE, WOULD YOU DEMAND THAT REPARATIONS BE MADE?

      IF NOT, WHY NOT?

  10. Yahya the Turk: There already is a verdict in our favour. Educate yourself with the verdicts of Turkish own Courts Martial of 1919.

  11. Gayane, Gaytzag

I am not making fun. If you guys get a verdict at ICJ in your favour, We Turks will be compelled to give you a compensation because we are not heartless human beings unlike what you think about us. Moreover, Turkey is already contributing many developing countries for some reason. The government announced recently that it contributed just under 1 billion dollars in 2010.For more info see turkish tika. Why not include Armenia

    http://www.ecocci.com/DC/PDF/19.04.201017_34Presentation%20of%20TIKA.pdf

    • Yahya the Turk.. start saving up your money.. the day is coming..

and Turkey is contribution all right.. the money to shut, threaten or bribe everyone who speak of Genocide.. Glad you already beginning to understand that.. even though it took you a while with your denialist brain of yours…keep it up.. good job… maybe one day you will be considered a human being with conscious… (this is said with sarcasm of course)

  12. I always think Turkey should pay compensation to Armenians. But if you think Turkey is becoming weaker, you are very wrong. Turkey is one of the fastest growing economies and economists say this trend will continue. Missile shield agreement shows Turkey – NATO relations are expanding. Even French minister supported that bill said Turkey is a great nation before voting. So France is not turning their back. But I say again, if we accept that a deportation happened and properties of Armenians are left here, I think we should pay compensation.

    • Mehmet.. it is not “you think you will pay”.. it is “you will pay”.. aka your Turkish govt obviously…

Also, France by passing this bill is not turning its back to Turkey.. No one said that only Nationalist think that.. France is doing the right thing.. but they are not going to cave in just because Turkey is threatening.. this matter SHOULD not affect France’s and Turkey’s relationship on the business front… TUrkey is making it a problem.. and the more TUrkey acts like a spoiled brat, the wold will little by little retrieve doing any business with her.. who would want to deal with that BS???

But thank you for your understanding and willingness to do the right thing..

      God Bless

  13. Mr Sassonian is an excellent analyst and a true patriot,he should be the Foreign Minister of Armenia, not a sell out jerk like Nalbandian.
    Well written,thank you.

  14. to Paul,
If you are replying to John the turk w/ref to word Verdict and as rgds the Ottoam Turkish military courts martial(see Vahagn Dadrian´s book , on the factual decisions therein contained, indeed John has to get hold that book or the yet recent one he has written with prof. Ackcam….
But if you hint at my mentioning above word Verdict,it is in relation with our Legitimate Claims as to riches confiscated from our ancestors, properties taken over etc., for which quite recently the U.S. Congress has urged republic of Turkey to return Armenian,Greek and Assyrian owned churches ,hospitals and schools to the aforementioned. These are related of course, but not quite the same. However, latter will sort of smoothen the process by and by.

  17. If you really think that a pathetic vote in France is a sign of Turkey weakening, then you are being delusional. Turkey is the second fastest growing country in the world after China. You know is Armenia the 2nd at? At being the worst economy in the world after Madacascar :). Just as the Forbes magazine.

If I were the Turkish government, I would just ingore the French vote. Who cares. I would even laugh. Doesn’t France have something more important to do? Hint: saving its economy and banks from collapse.

    • It only takes U.S to change laws in a month to turn China poor that’s what they did about 20 years ago, dude you learn that in Microeconomics! Plus, it would apply same to Turkey too….so remember Turkey is still dependent to foreign countries for its economy including purchasing military goods.

    • AzeriTurk-oglu Kerim,

you and your hallucinating Denialist Turcophile riff raff buddies keep clinging to the fake numbers regurgitated by the Neocon Turcophile mouthpiece Forbes, to sooth your shattered pride. (….after having your clock cleaned by a few dozen poorly equipped Artsakhtsi Armenian Mountain Warriors).

Keep fantasizing that Armenia will just wither away.
Go and watch the military parades of 2011 in Baku and Yerevan, and convince yourself with massive injections of hallucinogenic reality altering substances which country is going to disappear first. I say the fake State of Azerbaijan, whose racist AzeriTatarTurk minority is suppressing and calling everyone (e.g. Tats, Talishes, Udins, Lezgins, Zakhors, Luitsis, Avars, Kurds, etc…) an Azeri – to hide the fact that Turks are a minority.

Here is proof that FORBES is lying like a rug:

      FORBES LIST
      #10 Madagascar (worst)
      #9 Armenia (supposedly 2nd worst)
      #8 Guinea
      #7 Ukraine
      #6 Jamaica

      FORBES
Armenia {Per-capita GDP of $3,000 is less than a third of neighboring Turkey, and inflation is running at 7%}Forbes (Article written in 2011)
      (GDP Estimate for 2009)

      CIA (CIA Factbook) (2010 est)
      #10 Madagascar GDP – per capita $900
      #9 Armenia GDP- per capita : $5,700
      #8 Guinea GDP – per capita $1,000
      #7 Ukraine GDP – per capita $6,700
      #6 Jamaica GDP – per capita $8,300

Greece GDP – per capita (PPP): $29,600 (2010 est.)(CIA Factbook)
Turkey GDP – per capita (PPP): $12,300 (2010 est.(CIA Factbook)
Azerbaijan GDP – per capita (PPP): $10,900 (2010 est.) (CIA Factbook)

Georgia GDP – per capita (PPP): $4,900 (2010 est.)(CIA Factbook)
Madagascar GDP – per capita (PPP): $900 (2010 est.).(CIA Factbook)

I included Greece to show that even financially screwed up Greece is doing 2.5 times better than the Super Economic Miracle Turkey. To show how desperate and delusional Turks and AzeriTatarTurks are.

BTW: 95% of Azerbaijan’s wealth is just gushing out of Earth: when oil runs out in 5 years – AzerGascarJan here I come.

    • Lily jan.. unfortunately these sorry denialists can’t think outside their sorry box.. so Kerim to even pretend to know economics or history in that matter would be a miracle…

  18. They blame Sarkozy on many sites, that he is asking Armenians’ votes

    I say…According to my knowledge…
There are 4 million muslims in France…
    But Muslims in France
They all know about Armenian Genocide
And they will support the bill
Because fair is fair nothing to do with religion
    Things to do with humanity...
Because they know… it was a real genocide
Muslim of France Educated and Fair
I meet many of them, they all said the same…
They Love Armenians in France …
    And every where…

    Sylva

  19. Kerim,
Turkey may be a “fast growing” country and Armenia may be economically weak, due mainly to the illegal blockade of your country and Azerbaijan. But Armenia is capable of striking back at agressive attempts by its genocidal neighbours. Don’t miscalculate. And don’t you think you are cleverer and more knowledgeable than your country’s leaders. The fact that they become panicky and begin to wet their trousers everytime they hear the word Genocide is not quite without ground. They know much better than you that Turkey is going to lose ever more ground on the AG issue with all accompanying consequences.

  20. Strange!!! Up above there was one very short post by LILLY HURST…
it (AG) or herself? has pulled it out? I wonder…
it was to the effrect that great Turkey better know that the U.s. can render China where it was..by just passing a new Law( I would imagine impede import of her goods etc.,) same to you Turkey..and also…
the arms supply might stop to you great Turkey…
Whatever happened to that short post I ask AG?

  21. Avery, you sound like a raving prophet. No matter you spin it, the facts are facts. Turkey is a dynamic economy with a fast growth. Armenia, a dying economy. For example, didn’t Moody’s recently downgrade Armenia even further. To be frank with you, I have no desire to prove to you that Earth is flat. Your love of Armenia (which is admirable) should not blind you to reality. You can continue to love and defend Armenia without resorting to illusions.

It is not me who says Armenian economy is horrible. It is being said by the hordes of Armenians leaving Armenia. You can say all you want in your comfortable home in the West. But your starving cousins in Yerevan vote with their feet, and those feet have their heels facing Armenia. By the way, if you love Armenia so much and if it such a vibrant economy, why don’t you move there? Please do enlighten me.

    • “By the way, if you love Armenia so much and if it such a vibrant economy, why don’t you move there? Please do enlighten me.”

Show me where I said Armenia is, quote, “…such a vibrant economy…”.

As to moving to Armenia. We have discussed this many times before.
You guys never tire of the ‘same old, same old’, neither will I.

When all 5 million unwelcome, unwanted Turks living in Europe move back to {“a dynamic economy with a fast growth – Turkey .”}, you can ask me about moving back to Armenia.

When 2 million unwelcome, unwanted Azeri migrant workers living in Russia return to Azerbaijan, you can ask me about moving back to Armenia.

      Fair deal, Kerim-bey ?

  22. Lily Hurst, you say: ” So remember Turkey is still dependent to foreign countries for its economy including purchasing military goods.”

Yes, a good point. But at the end of the day, it does not matter WHY Turkey is currently doing very well economically. What matters is that it is doing very well, and it has been doing very well for some time. As for dependence on other countries, in today’s global economy, who isn’t dependent on others?

    • Kerim Bey… remember this much.. Turkey would not be where she is if she did not inherit your barbaric ancestors wealth who mercilessly stole and murdered an entire nation.. but unfortunate for you.. we survived.. and turkey won’t enjoy her high tide very long.. eventually the pretend democracy will break apart.. so i would not gloat if i were you.. you denialists love to feed on others who create, build and cumulate wealth.. because you AS a country/people can’t create, build, and cumulate wealth..

  23. To Arshag:

You say: Turkey may be a “fast growing” country and Armenia may be economically weak, due mainly to the illegal blockade of your country and Azerbaijan.

Kerim: Why the quatation marks? Turkey IS a fast growing country. Don’t let you hatred and envy make you misread reality. As for Armenia’s weakness, no, it is not because of the Azeri-Turkish blocade, but because it has no significant natural resources, its population is too small, and it is very corrupt. As for the blockade, what do you expect from a country whose 20% you are occupying? To open its borders and enrich its enemy with its oil? Or Turkey? Your goal in life is to undermine Turkey. Do you expect it to help you economically. No, the blocade is not the cause of your current predicament, but a result of your hostile policies towards your neigbors.

Arshag also says: The fact that they become panicky and begin to wet their trousers everytime they hear the word Genocide is not quite without ground.

Kerim: Turkey wetting its pants in the fact of a vote in France? You got it the other way around. It is the French who is the pant-wetter (before Germany). Turks have never NEVER lived under another’s rule! Can France ever say that? How about Armenia? (hint: it has been doing that for the past 2000+ years!)

    • Kerim what are you smoking man?? Armenia has hostile policies toward its neightbors?? are you out of your brainwashed mind???

Are you speaking of your own country? the country who has issues with every single country around her… you must be blinded by your nationalist fasicst state of mind.. you are pathetic..

and YES Kerim.. no matter how you twist thing.Turkey DOES WET in her pants every time a country utters the word Genocide.. and they will continue to do so because they know what is coming.. and you yourself need to be prepare for that day because it is very very near.. fake democracy or not..

  24. Kerim

It does not really matter how the ARmenian economy is doing at this moment. (we survived the worst times in early 90s when there was no economy at all). What matters is how the ARmenian diaspora around the world is doing. More precisely how the ARmenian diaspora is getting hold of the governments around the world, including Turkey (through our favorite ARdogan). By the time fools like you realize this Turkey’s borders will be different.

  27. Erdogan’s references to colonial-era killings in Algeria prompted criticism from Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

Ouyahia noted that Turkey was a member of NATO during the independence war in Algeria and as such provided material support to France.

“We say to our [Turkish] friends: Stop making capital out of Algeria’s colonization,” AFP quoted him as saying.

AR says: It does not really matter how the ARmenian economy is doing at this moment. (we survived the worst times in early 90s when there was no economy at all).

Kerim: The thing is, the jury is still out on whether you HAVE survived. The population of Armenia since 90s has almost been halved. The diaspora hand-outs can float an economy only so much.

AR says: By the time fools like you realize this Turkey’s borders will be different.

Kerim: Stop kidding yourself. A vote in French or US parliaments WILL NEVER alter Turkey’s borders. If you want it, you have to come and take it, instead of trying to make the French fight your war (they didn’t even fight their own :). At least the Kurds are man enough to try. Turkey knows very well that this whole Genocide-recognition drive is ultimately a gambit for territorial claims. Now, can you tell me the last time Turkey’s borders were altered by an outside force? Not so in the last 1000 years, amigo. Keep on dreaming. Armenia’s borders on the other hand have been as inviolable as sand beneath a soldier’s feet

  29. Kerim
This is becomijng a joke. Who is kidding himself and who is dreaming? Turkey’s borders didn’t change “in the last 1000 years”?. Was there a “Turkey” then anywhere at all on earth? It’s really amazing how uninformd and ignorant of history you are Kerim.
And where did the Ottoman empire, which stretched from Balkans to Egypt, vanish? And when did it happen? At its historical diminishing rate we may rest assured there would probably not much be left of today’s Turkey towards the second half of this century. Remember, many powerful empires vanished from the face of the earth by their arrogance and conceit. And many other smaller nations who patiently endured harsh times survived only to appear later stronger and greater. Just look at your former ally Israel, whom you are losing because of your blunders and bluster. So, go on bragging Kerim. You are actually helping us.

  30. Kerim,

There is so much to tell you, but I will keep it short. Never in our 12,000 (twelve thousand at least) year old history we have changed the name of our nation nor our country. What about you? What are you going to call yourself and your country after the 3rd world war? Chose a name before we chose it for you.

Also your borders were changed during WW1. Look into it. It is basic history.

  31. AR says: “Never in our 12,000 (twelve thousand at least) year old history we have changed the name of our nation nor our country.”

Kerim: Who cares if you have not changed your name in 12000 or 50000 years. What matters is that my ancestors and my people have been ruling over the land you call “yours” for over 1000 years. Period.

    • Kerim,

Your ancestors are at least 50% ARmenians. That is why you don’t look like an asiatic mongolian. You have chosen your barbaric grandfathers’ side vs your peaceful local grandmothers. That shows exactly what you will do when turkey is envaded by another coutry in the future. That is why your essence is temporarily. Look at you in the mirror carefully and you will find all the right answers.

  32. Gayane, call my ancestors barbaric as much as you want. I don’t care. You know why? Because your defintion of barbaric is the fact that my ancestors conquered yours 1000 years ago, and you have never had that land ever since. What you call barbaric, I call victorious. Of course, the losers are often sour.

    • of course you would call it victorious.. because you share the same mentality as your ancestors.. barbarism does not equate frm the word ” heroic”… barabarism equates to “weakness and cowardly”… and as much painful it may be Kerim, you have to face the facts.. your ancestors were barbaric cowards… they could not face Armenians like real men.. and had to kill our men first to have more power and energy to rape, murder, torture, drawn, burn our women, children and elderly… i feel sorry for you…because you believe your babaric ancestors did a great deed by ruling the lands of others by now fighting like real men but like cowards… it is a sad sad situation for you denialist Kerim..

  33. Kirem:
Be Kareem as your name and don’t turn humans sands and cream
You said, “Armenia’s borders on the other hand have been as inviolable as sand beneath a soldier’s feet…”
May be this phrase was your pride before but no longer…
This phrase is against human rights…
    People are not sands
    People have genes
    People have souls
    People wants to live
We are are born to live
    Like you and others…
Awake don’t use phrases that insult humanity…
    Abee Alla Al Mar’ri of 11 century…says the opposite….
“Walk on the sand carefully not proudly… on the ashes of souls and ashes under you, those who have faith” to mean one day you will die…
” Amshi ala alard ruwadan la egtialan ala rifat alibad”

    Sylva

Can you tell me which person said that ugly phrase above repeated by you or which poet…I am very interested to know…
