BOSTON, Mass.—On the evening of Sat., Jan. 15, the AGBU Young Professionals (YP) of Boston held an Armenian Christmas party at Cafeteria on trendy Newbury Street in Boston. Seventy-five young professionals from Boston as well as New York and Connecticut attended the holiday festivities. Guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails as they mingled and danced to American and Armenian music.
YP Boston publicist Laura Michael served as event chair. “We wanted our first event of 2011 to be a fun, social mixer so that we could all celebrate together. We had a fabulous turnout, which is a great indication of many more successful YP Boston events to come.”
YP Boston has several upcoming events planned for the beginning of 2011, including a Steering Committee Open House on Thurs., Jan. 27, so that YPs interested in joining the committee can learn more about serving as a Board member and about the mission of the AGBU Young Professionals.
YPs will also be attending the special presentation of “Orphans of the Genocide” on Feb. 8 at Holy Trinity Armenian Church. Another Happy Hour in Boston is also in the works following the success of last fall’s cocktails and fashion show event at the Liberty Hotel.
The AGBU YP Boston Steering Committee is comprised of Chair Hripsime Mkrtchyan, Vice Chair Vartan Kazandjian, Secretary Lilith Kibarian, Treasurer Natalie Maserejian, Publicist Laura Michael, and Committee Members Charlie Larkin, Nicole Meregian, Irina Nanagoulian, and Gariné Kazandjian. The committee meets monthly to plan social, cultural, humanitarian, and educational events.
Save the dates above, and come by the AGBU Center at 465 Mt. Auburn Street in Watertown to learn more about the AGBU YP and how you can get involved.
