JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass.—On Sun., Dec. 12, the weather outside was frightful, but the Christmas spirit inside the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (ANRC) was very delightful.
Members of the Armenian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA), which owns and operates the nursing home, were singing Christmas carols and spreading joy to the residents, some of whom clapped and sang along to Armenian and English Christmas favorites, accompanied on the piano by Mary Ann Kazanjian.
Christmas caroling has been a much beloved tradition at the nursing home. Many family members of the residents also attended and enjoyed the festive mood, while sitting with their loved ones and holding hands—a very heartwarming reminder of the love they share and the true spirit of Christmas.
The carolers brought their music and songs to all residents, even those who were in bed, as they wandered around the floors and toured the rooms to spread Christmas cheers to all.
A beautiful reception following the singing, where residents and guests enjoyed Armenian delicacies and wine to celebrate the season.
