    • Actually I thought the game was otherwise good. Ireland was only able to score one goal on a post-soviet team, with the 2nd backup goalie and down to 10 men. That’s kinda pathetic if you ask me :) The Irish only needed to tie the game to advance. Armenian had to win the game to advance in place of Ireland. So Ireland came into the game with some advantage from the start.

On top of all this, Armenia scored the most goals in their group. Quite an improvement for the Armenian team.

  1. RVDV,

We are happy to have you here and read your posts but out of curiosity I want to ask you one question. Why are you following news related to Armenians and posting here?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    • Valid question Sella. With all the Turkish denialists running around and posting everywhere people might think all Turks are like that. While a majority are, there are people like me who want to solve this Armenian genocide issue so that hopefully one day we won’t view each other as enemies. Regarding this article, I was supporting Armenia big time, it’s good to see the little guys have their day in sports, unfortunately a bad call ruined Armenia’s chances in the game.

  2. After watching Armenia this last year, I’ve been impressed with the level of their play, especially now that they are focused on attack instead of playing it safe( trying to merely to look respectable/playing for a draw).

I think they need one or two bigger bodies at fullback. They are currently lacking on defense. Offensively, they have a great side.
